Fabric Technicalities:
Soft shell Jackets are designed for use outdoors as part of the layering system, and can be used alone, ideal for aerobic activity in light weather conditions if they are water repellent and highly breathable, or as an insulating layer under a Soft shell outer jacket.
Outer layer is made of hard face of fleece to increase wind and water resistance. The base layer is designed to trap a thin layer of warm air against the body and it also works to pull sweat away from the skin, which is known as wicking. Soft shells keep you dry by wicking sweat from your lower layers to the outside of your jacket where it spreads out and evaporates.
